George Washington operated one of the largest whiskey distilleries in early America, producing 11,000 gallons in 1799. The current distillery was reconstructed in 2007 producing small batches of whiskey on-site using 18th century methods. Walk through George Washington's working distillery with Steve Bashore, Mount Vernon's director of historic trades.
